Unfurl

Fiddle heads of wood fern, Thelypteris kunthii, begin to unfurl in the back woodland garden.

There is nothing prettier than new life in the garden.

I found your blog while surfing on my lunch break. The photos are excellent! My partner & I moved to E. Austin (Windsor Park) in fall '06 and I've slowly been transforming my yard from overgrown suburban 1950's to something more xeric. I imagine we're dealing with some of the same issues (soil/drainage/dog?). I love what you've done! -Ben

Oh - the fiddle heads are amazing indeed. There's just something about them - they seem so unusual and exotic. Thanks for sharing.

What a beautiful natural spiral on that fiddlehead fern. :)

Sorry for being slow to introduce myself--I like your blog, and I've been reading for a while now. Found you on Pam's site, I think.
