plants: Forsythia sage

This "forsythia sage," Salvia madrensis, is a great pass along plant from Renee's Roots that is difficult to capture on film. Like Pam at Digging, I'm having a difficult time figuring out the right place for it. Here you can see it sprawling out from the right side of the photo. It's really about 6 feet in length, and I have to lift it to walk on the path.

It's very small and not noticeable during the spring and summer, which says to me that it really wants to be in the background somewhere remaining hidden until Fall. But where is that place in my garden? I'll find it someday...

Yours is so bright in color. Mine is more of a washed out color of yellow. I do have it in shade though and maybe that's why.
