critters: Bumblebee Hawkmoth

Finally snapped a good photo of the bumblebee hawkmoth, Hemaris diffinis. This one was resting peacefully on the okra before it revved up its tiny little clear wings and took off. It's such a fantastic mimic of the bumblebee. Strange, because I almost never see bumblebees in Austin. In fact, maybe never?

These beautiful creatures have been munching on the coral honeysuckle, which I documented here.
