plants: Yellow Columbine

One of my favorite plants of all time: yellow columbine (Aquilegia chrysantha?). It's one of the first flowers to bloom in woodland understory gardens around these parts. The flowers are beautiful and the foliage is stunning too.

Have always enjoyed both the native yellow and red columbines, but have always had trouble getting them to stick around from season to season. But I'm trying them again this year - they are quite nice.

Gorgeous plant! I've been waiting for mine to bloom to discover what color we ended up with. 2 years and still waiting on a flower here. :)
