Front Garden: Befores and Afters
Ok, one more post about the front garden project, and then I'm done. (Yea right.) It's always fun to look at before and after photos side by side. So here they are. The before photos are taken in July 2006 when we first bought the house. The front garden had changed since then - we removed trees, added beds and removed some grass - but the circular brick walk and falling brick wall had remained until this new project. Here we go...

I have been looking for a Mexican Oregano plant since I left Texas, to see if it will grow here in Southern Illinois.

I LOVE before and after photos. Such a stunning transformation from ordinary lawn to extraordinary space. You must be incredibly happy with how it all turned out. If I were you I'd either be out there or gazing happily out a window at that space.

That is so gorgeous! I had proposed a similar landscape design to a friend of mine, but the drawings I provided don't convey nearly as well the end result as your photos do.
I do love that Austin limestone. Using the native stone really roots the yard in the landscape. Makes it look real "Texas-y," if you get my drift.
I thin the straight lines look just right. And I like the new house color, too. It pops the stone facade on the front.
Very cool and awesome design. Really shows off the house.
