I recently bought three healthy plants and planted them along the back chain link fence. Here's the fence.
Blech. The neighbors are actually quite wonderful, but I really don't like that 9 foot tall black chain link fence, nor the dog run and garage that it fences in.
The crossvine, which is 'Tangerine Beauty,' was already blooming (which many store-bought plants are wont to do). I can't wait for them to totally conceal the fence...

It won't take them long I can assure you. The problem will be keeping them under control. I dug one out a few years ago because it was just too big and never did get all the roots out. It's back again. I will say that it is spectacular when it flowers and the hummingbirds do love it. I think it's perfect for yourchain link fence.

I love tangerine crossvine. Mine took a year to really take off, but once it did, it grew and bloomed like crazy, even in the summer. And the colors are going to go really well with the neighbor's garage. ;)
I had a a large one that I inherited from the previous owners of my house. It blocked the view to the rest of my yard so I also tried to get rid of it. I am still pulling up tiny remnants of it today! I think it is a great plant and is no trouble at all unless you want to move it when it is established. When mature you need sunglasses to look at this plant.
It will make a great screen.
Also Star Jasmine is stella at concealing chainlink, has a great aroma aswell.

This is a good one that I've been using to cover my back chain link. Mine hasn't performed so well, not sure if it's lack of water or it hates me, but I plan to plant more!
